Life gets busy. Between work, family, and the demands of everyday life, it’s easy to put your own health on the back burner. Many people don’t schedule routine lab work or wellness visits unless something feels wrong. Before they know it, it’s been years since they’ve taken a meaningful look at what’s happening inside their body.
The most common health issues develop quietly.
High blood pressure, insulin resistance, prediabetes, high cholesterol, hormone imbalances, thyroid dysfunction, vitamin deficiencies, and chronic inflammation often progress long before noticeable symptoms appear.
Your 6-Step Functional Medicine Roadmap of Care
Functional medicine shouldn’t mean ordering a long list of tests and hoping something reveals the answer.
My approach is different.
I use a structured roadmap to understand your story, identify the most important questions, gather the right information, and use that information to guide the next decision.
Less guessing. More clarity. Better-informed care.
1
Step 1 · Strategy Call
Start With Your Story
Before recommending testing or a plan, the two of us start with a conversation.
We’ll discuss your health history, current concerns, goals, previous approaches, and what you feel is missing from your care.
This initial strategy call helps determine whether my approach is appropriate for your needs—and whether we’re a good fit to work together.
The goal isn’t to sell you a program. It’s to determine whether there is a meaningful reason to continue the conversation.
2
Step 2 · Case Review
Connect the Dots
If we’re a good fit, we move into a deeper review of your health history and current concerns.
I’ll look at the bigger picture—not just an individual symptom or isolated lab value.
Your history, symptoms, lifestyle, previous testing, medications and supplements, and other relevant factors help create a working picture of where we should focus our attention.
The result is a Case Review Summary that identifies the key patterns, questions, and potential areas for further investigation.
This gives us a starting point based on your individual story rather than a one-size-fits-all protocol.
3
Step 3 · Data Collection
Ask Better Questions. Gather Better Data
Once together we know what we’re looking for, I can determine what additional information would actually be useful.
Depending on your individual situation, this may include basic laboratory testing and, when appropriate, more specialized testing.
The goal isn’t to order every test available.
It’s to collect relevant data that can help answer the questions raised during your case review.
This may allow us to better understand areas such as:
- Metabolic health
- Nutrient status
- Inflammation
- Gut health and digestion
- Hormonal patterns
- Sleep and recovery
- Stress physiology
- Other factors relevant to your individual concerns
Testing is not the destination.
It’s a tool for reducing uncertainty and making better-informed decisions.
4
Step 4 · Results Review
Turn Data Into Direction
Laboratory results can generate more questions than answers when they’re viewed in isolation.
That’s why the next step is a dedicated review of your results in the context of your history, symptoms, goals, and other available information.
We’ll discuss what the data may tell us, what it doesn’t tell us, and where the most meaningful opportunities may exist.
From there, we determine the next step together.
Sometimes that means addressing a few foundational areas.
Sometimes it means gathering additional information.
And sometimes the most appropriate next step is simply to monitor and reassess.
The data helps guide the decision rather than the decision driving the data.
5
Step 5 · Your Roadmap
From Information to Action
Once we’ve developed a clearer picture, I will establish a personalized plan based on what we’ve learned together.
That may involve changes to nutrition, lifestyle, sleep, stress, movement, targeted supplementation, or other appropriate strategies.
The objective isn’t to overwhelm you with a 20-step protocol.
It’s to identify the most meaningful next steps and give you a practical way to implement them.
Progress should be intentional—not random.
6
Step 6 · Ongoing Support
You Don’t Have to Figure It Out Alone
Understanding what may be contributing to your health challenges is only part of the process.
Implementation matters.
That’s why ongoing support is designed around what you actually need.
Depending on your plan, support may include:
Online education
Self-paced modules and resources that help you understand the “why” behind your recommendations.
Live coaching calls
Dedicated time to review progress, answer questions, troubleshoot challenges, and adjust the plan.
Secure messaging
Ongoing communication between visits when questions or challenges arise.
Progress monitoring
Reassessment of symptoms, habits, relevant data, and goals to determine what is working and what needs to change.
The level of support can evolve as your needs evolve.
It’s a Roadmap (not a protocol)
There is no universal functional medicine protocol because there is no universal person.
Your roadmap should be built around your story, your data, and your goals.
The process is intentionally designed to move from:
Story → Strategy → Investigation → Data → Interpretation → Action → Support
Because the goal isn’t to do more.
The goal is to know what matters most—and what to do next.
